In this subject, we have several tasks that involve both individual and group work. One major task is a Design Thinking project focused on AI and Big Data, where we apply creative problem-solving techniques. We also need to create a report and a poster based on an industry talk from UTM Digital and a semiconductor company. Additionally, we must produce a video summarizing our experience during the industry visit to UTM Digital. Lastly, we are required to prepare a newsletter-style report for the upcoming industry visit to Petronas on January 17, 2025. These assignments are aimed at enhancing our understanding of the tech industry and developing skills in research, communication, and teamwork.

It’s a hands-on way to create a customized PC tailored to your specific needs, whether for gaming, work, or general use. Building your own PC not only helps you save money compared to buying pre-built systems but also gives you valuable insight into how computers work. It’s a rewarding experience that lets you choose exactly the parts you want, troubleshoot issues, and enjoy the satisfaction of powering on a system you built yourself!

Design Thinking : Ask and Dine In Wit Adi
"Design Thinking Project : ADi (Food and Dine-in Service with AI)", was created by Bistro 2 Square Bytes (B4B) for the SECP1513-02 STEM course, guided by Dr. Aryati. The project addresses challenges in the UTM Dining Section using AI-integrated solutions to enhance user experiences for students, food managers, and delivery riders. Using the Design Thinking framework—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—the team identified key issues like system usability, menu updates, and delivery logistics. They developed "ADi", an AI-driven platform that streamlines food ordering, delivery services, and management tasks. Through surveys, interviews, and prototyping, the solution was refined and positively received, showcasing the team’s commitment to innovation and collaboration.
- Emphatize : The team gathered insights from 70 students via a Google Form and conducted interviews with a food rider and a food manager. Key challenges identified included incomplete system information, menu update difficulties, and poor delivery coordination.
- Define : These were categorized into specific problems: inconsistent operating hours and limited menus for students, complex systems for food managers, and delivery inaccuracies for riders.
- Ideate : Our team brainstormed solutions, including an AI chatbot for real-time updates, an online ordering system with live location and photo verification, and added features like nutritional tracking.
- Prototype : Our team developed a functional design for the ADi system that can solve all the problem that we get during define phase
- Test : Users provided positive feedback, particularly on the chatbot and tracking features, which refined the final solution. This approach ensured a user-centered, innovative system.

Reflection for Lab 2 : What is the main objective for your Design Thinking Project to your group ?
This Design Thinking project demonstrated the value of understanding user-specific challenges, such as students struggling with inconsistent operating hours, food managers finding it difficult to update menus, and food riders facing issues with delivery locations and poor connectivity. The ideation process led to targeted solutions like an AI chatbot for real-time updates, an online ordering system with live location and photo verification, and nutritional tracking. Prototyping translated these ideas into a functional system, and user testing validated its effectiveness, with feedback highlighting the chatbot and tracking features as particularly useful. A key insight was the need to simplify technology for food managers, ensuring the system's usability.

Industry Visit : UTM Digital
The Industry Visit at UTM Digital is a program organized by the Faculty of Computing for first-year, first-semester students. The program exposes students to the organizational structure of UTM Digital, which manages all of the university's virtual services. One of the key features highlighted during the visit is the UTM Smart application. This app was developed to help students easily access up-to-date information from the university's administration. Additionally, it allows students to submit various online applications, streamlining the process and making it more efficient. Furthermore, the visit provides students with the opportunity to explore various levels and rooms within UTM Digital, including seminar halls, staff offices, and rooms that are sponsored by global companies.
- Organizational Structure : ChatGPT The organization consists of three divisions: Digital Innovation, Digital Strategy, and Digital Architecture, along with the Department of Digital Services at UTM KL and a directory office handling HR and finances. UTM Digital employs 170 staff, with 150 at UTM JB and 20 at UTM KL.

The Industry Visit was thoroughly enjoyed as many things about the UTM Digital organization were learned. Each aspect was explained in greater detail, with clear information provided about who is involved and how the work is carried out behind the scenes. It was made clear how the team works diligently to ensure that the best services are provided to staff, lecturers, and students. The process by which these services are delivered was thoroughly outlined, giving a deeper understanding of the efforts involved in maintaining and supporting the university's digital infrastructure.

Industrial Talk : Micro SemiConductor & UTM Digital
On December 17, 2024, students from Sections 02 and 03 came together in Bilik Kuliah 1, N28, for an enlightening industry talk focused on bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations in computer science. The event featured two distinguished speakers, one in-person and the other virtually via Webex, who shared invaluable insights into industry requirements and entrepreneurship preparation.The talks encouraged students to actively engage and broaden their perspectives on how to enhance their skills and knowledge. This proactive learning experience aimed to empower participants to excel as high-quality graduates in the ever-evolving field of computer science

To ensure my career success, both soft and technical skills will be developed. Clear communication will be practiced through group projects and presentations, and teamwork will be strengthened by participating in hackathons. Time management will be improved by using tools like Trello, and networking opportunities will be embraced by attending industry events and maintaining a LinkedIn profile. On the technical side, programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++ will be mastered, and tools like VS Code and Git will be learned. Debugging and system-building projects will be undertaken to enhance expertise, and technology trends will be followed through webinars and online resources. This plan is designed to prepare for future challenges and opportunities.
